What our members say

Being part of a group of other dedicated wool brands gives us the tools to make better environmental and social decisions for our wool products. If you are working with wool, I would highly recommend joining the Good Wool Collective.

The collaborative approach is inspiring, and the community brings together experts I wouldn’t normally have access to in my daily work.

A magical fibre, mismanaged.

Wool has kept us clothed, warm and beautiful for millennia. But the way we grow wool is causing harm. Carbon and methane emissions, animal welfare challenges, and soil destruction are impacts from our intensive way of growing wool.

The potential of wool is immense.

Wool can solve many of the challenges we have with the fashion and textile industries. Wool is renewable, circular, readily recyclable, and if grown respectfully, can increase the health of the soil and sequester carbon.

Together, we can make wool better.

Brands who are a part of Good Wool Collective share knowledge and resources to create momentum that will make wool better for all.

By working together, we reduce the costs and complexity of transitioning towards wool that is better for the sheep, the communities, and the planet, all while reducing the impact of our businesses.

Direct access to a global wool network.

Good Wool Collective has amassed a network of wool growers and processors, weavers, knitters, dyers, researchers and other experts from around the world who are ready to assist in transitioning your brand to good wool that is cost-effective and better for the planet, as well as reducing your brand’s climate impact through wool.

United in the transition towards good wool.

There is strength in being part of a collective.

Membership of Good Wool Collective will give you access to the community, knowledge and resources needed to move your brand towards good wool.

Insightful expert-led seminars

Every two months we arrange an insight session from global wool experts that will inform and inspire. We facilitate conversations around the topic’s relevance to our brands and the possible impacts.

Practical, result-oriented workshops

Our workshops invite members to co-create tools, frameworks, and resources that address real challenges in wool sourcing and communication.

Working groups to push wool further

Working groups offer a collaborative space for brands to deep-dive into key challenges and opportunities related to wool. Members share experiences, tackle real issues, and develop practical routes forward, guided by wool experts across multiple sessions throughout the year.

Community Slack channel

Members join a Slack community where they can connect to each other and to experts in the community.

Contribute to our collective vision

As a Collective, we are open to all voices of our membership. By being a part of the Collective, your brand can help shape the future of good wool.

Important topics, explored and worked on.

Good Wool Collective comes together every two months to engage with topics integral to improving the impact of wool.

Each meeting incorporates an expert talk to inform and inspire, followed by a workshop and follow-up discussions that turn learnings into action.

These are some of the topics we have lined up for 2026.

  • JanuaryWool 101: Building a Strong Wool FoundationWool is one of the most versatile natural fibres, but its technicalities can be hard to navigate. This seminar builds a confident, shared understanding of wool basics: how the fibre is built, micron counts, differences between sheep breeds, durability, and the value chain.
  • MarchThe Latest on Wool EmissionsConfusion around methane, carbon uptake, and evolving GHG accounting rules can leave brands unsure of how to report credibly. This seminar brings clarity with the latest guidance, showing practical methods brands can use now to integrate wool emissions into reporting with confidence.
  • MayDefining Compliant Communication GuidelinesCommunicating about wool, whether emissions, regenerative practices, or environmental claims, is becoming more regulated and scrutinised. This workshop session develops a concise set of guidelines with dos and don’ts, providing brands with a practical reference for compliant wool communication.
  • JulyOpportunities and Limitations of Recycled WoolRecycled wool is seen as a key opportunity for brands, both for circularity and emission reduction strategies. This seminar explores recycled wool in depth: technical pathways, case studies, and sourcing strategies, so brands gain practical tools to move forward credibly.
  • OctoberCreating a Playbook for Wool CertificationsThe wool market includes many certifications with different scopes, standards, and credibility levels. This workshop session explores a broad range of certifications, including those new to participants, resulting in a clear reference table.
  • DecemberWriting an Ambitious Animal Welfare PolicyBrands are increasingly expected to demonstrate responsible animal welfare practices. This workshop session brings brands together to share experiences and co-create a structured animal welfare policy beyond the Five Freedoms.
